Church Unleashed Global is a 501(c)3 non-profit that exists to help facilitate the local church to improve its missional impact, across the street and around the world. We accomplish this in a process that leads to dialogue, evaluation, consultation and training. The ultimate objective is to assist you to implement a comprehensive Act 1:8 strategy unique to your church in its context, and the process is custom designed to that end.

Missions can start across the street or around the world. Out of the variety of our missional experience, we can help you prayerfully develop the missional strategy suited to your church. Each church is equipped and suited for their own unique course is mission engagement.

The ministry of Church Unleashed Global has developed from a vision of mobilizing churches to embrace the unreached and unengaged people groups of the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It was birthed in the heart of Dr.Brad Bessent out of the multi-faceted experience and research that he has done. Brad led a small church in rural South Carolina to impactfully engage a portion of an unreached people group in a region of Mali, Africa. He has conducted extensive research in how churches all across America have equipped their people to plant churches cross-culturally. He has led and trained other churches for the task of embracing and engaging people groups. He would love to help you design a strategy for your church. He has participated in missions work in Romania, Russia, Canada, Mali, Kenya, Nigeria, India and Peru.

Helpful Explanations

What is a “People Group”?

“For evangelization purposes, a people group is the largest group within which the Gospel can spread as a church planting movement without encountering barriers of understanding or acceptance

(Source: 1982 Lausanne Committee Chicago meeting.)

What distinguishes one people group from another?

“Ideally, “people group” would always be defined to mean (a) all individuals in the group understand each other reasonably well and (b) cultural / relationship barriers aren’t so high that the transmission of the Gospel is seriously impeded.”

 (Source: The Joshua Project.)

What is an Unreached People Group?

The mission world (missionaries, mission agencies and boards) generally consider a People Group unreached whenever less than 2% of the population is evangelical Christian. That number is significant, because it is generally believed that when a People Group is at least 2% evangelical Christian, they can assume responsibility for evangelizing their People Group.

What is an Unengaged Unreached People Group?

A UUPG is a people group that is not only unreached, but there is no known mission agency or board, no church, and no para-church group with a strategy that has targeted that group of people to share the Gospel and Plant Churches. Currently there are between 3100 and 3500 UUPGs in our world. That represents more than 1.7 billion people.

What is a Church Planting Movement?

A CPM is a rapid multiplication of indigenous churches planting churches that sweeps through a people group or population segment.
